Kate has worked in partnership with Dynamics – The Medway Music Education Hub since June 2022 offering fully funded brass lessons at Balfour Junior School. From September, she will be teaching funded trumpet, tenor horn and keyboard sessions! These sessions will run on Friday afternoons. They are always very popular so please contact Ms Kember or the school office if you wish to apply for a space for your child. Instruments and a tutor book will be provided for your child to use for the duration of the sessions (usually limited to 30 sessions per child, with an option to continue studying with Kate privately after the funded sessions have ended).

There is something for everyone:

·       KS1 Music Courses for pupils in Years 1 and 2 – No experience required.

·       Beginner Music Course – No experience required through to Grade 1 Standard.

·       3 Day Instrumental Course – For instrumentalists Grade 2 to Grade 8 Standard.

·       Online Music Tech Beginner Course – No experience required.

·       Online Music Tech Intermediate Course – For those with some experience of using BandLab.

For 10 weeks (split over terms 5 and 6) Kate is working in partnership with Dynamics – The Medway Music Education Hub to offer fully funded brass lessons at Balfour Junior School. We now have a mixture of trumpet, tenor horn and trombone students who have taken their first steps in learning a brass instrument. Kate is thrilled to have been able to instigate these lessons at BJS and has been really impressed at how well the students have taken to their instruments (which have been loaned to the students free of charge by Dynamics). We hope that this 10 week introduction will lead to an ongoing love of music and a some new recruits into this next generation of brass players!

Keyboard Club B is now fully booked, but a space has just opened up at Keyboard Club A on Wednesdays after school – please apply if your child wishes to join us!

We are very excited to announce that we are now offering instrumental lessons at Balfour Junior School! For more information please visit the BJS page. We are expecting demand to be high so don’t forget to submit your application form to secure a place for your child.

Keyboard Club A is now full, so we cannot accept any more applications for that session (which runs on Wednesdays after school).

There are still some spaces for Keyboard Club B which runs on Friday after school (15:15-16:00) – please apply via the online form if you would like to reserve a place for your child.

Due to a high demand for Keyboard Club there will now be two sessions on offer, on Wednesdays (for more experienced players) and Fridays (for beginners), both after school (15:15-16:00). Recorder Club has now moved to the new time of Friday morning before school (08:00-08:45).

There are still places available for both Keyboard Club and Recorder club so please do submit an online application for your child should they wish to join in the fun.
