Since Sound Roots is an external supplier of services to your child's school, we need to ensure GDPR protocols are met. As such, Sound Roots needs to share some basic data (pupils' names and classes) with your child's school in order to facilitate timetabling lessons etc. This information is never made public, it is only known to Sound Roots, the school administrative staff and yourself. We may also include your child's name in a printed / online format (e.g. in a Concert Programme). Sound Roots will only include your child's first name on public materials in order to comply with GDPR protocols. Your personal data will never be shared with any other party. All lessons are subject to a 24 hour notice period for cancellation by parents. Any lesson cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will not be charged. Any cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will not be rearranged and will still be charged. We will always do our best to accommodate requests to alter timetables in advance, so please do give us as much notice as possible if you can see a timetabling issue which will affect you.   All fees are calculated on a pro rata basis so if your lesson length varies from those stated on the website the fee will be calculated accordingly. Fees are payable in advance upon receipt of an invoice from Sound Roots, and commitment is on an ongoing basis. Should you wish to cancel your child’s Music lessons, this requires 6 lessons’ notice, given in writing by email. All fees are subject to annual review, and are kept in line with the Musicians’ Union’s recommended rates. Availability depends upon teacher availability so your place is not guaranteed when you submit the application. We will contact you in due course to advise if we have a place available, or if your child is to be placed on a waiting list. Placed are offered on a first come, first served basis. You will need to source both the instrument and any music books yourself, these are not provided by Sound Roots, they we may be able to assist / advise you.
